After completing the Claymore/Elden Ring fan project, I was approached to create another similar character.
Starting off, I was asked to adjust the concept for a more souls-like feel and proportions. From there, highpoly in Zbrush, retopology in Topogun, cleanup and UVs in Maya, Fibershop for hair texture, Maya + GSCurvetools for haircards, Substance for texturing and UE 5.6 for shader and visdev. The client also asked that the character be able to take off his jacket.
Part way through, we decided to add Metahuman to the pipeline. I learned how to create a metahuman head, using my sculpt as a base. Then take that back into Zbrush for further adjustment and then reincorporating that back in and having all the LODs adjusted. I learned how to use the Maya plugin for adjusting the head's blendshapes and the eye's joints, since the character had slightly larger eyes and the joints didn't update naturally during all this.
